The east end
of Derbyhaven Crescent. Immediately behind the large white house
was the tarmac apron and hanger from where the Civil Air Services operated
in 1944 and 1945. The the left was the HMS Urley southern dispersal
and hanger area. For its short period of operation the base had 120
aircraft of which 92 were Fairey Barracuda.
